God Bless America

Since I will be at work tomorrow I will post a happy 4th of July message today,

"While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free,
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer.
" God Bless America, Land that I love. Stand beside her, and guide her Thru the night with a light from above. From the mountains, to the prairies, To the oceans,
white with foam God bless America, My home sweet home.

I remeber the first baseball game after September 11th between the Phillies and the Braves. Before the game they had a moment of silence before the National Anthem and God Bless America. I remember during God Bless America they had a picture of Larry Bowa's face on the big screen. His face was streaked with tears as the song played. After the game a reporter asked him why he was crying during the song. Larry replied " Because I love this country" Thats exactly how I feel. If you can read thank a teacher. If you can read in English thank a veteran. Ciao

Hey, happy fourth! Even though it is a time to celbrate America I feel that it is an even better time to celebrate Italia. So raise a glass and shout centani! What a game! You know my old feelings about soccer, but I have to tell you that I turned off a phillies game (granted right now they stink somethin aweful, but it is me were talkin about) and watched the Itly Germany game. I hope you saw. Italy scored 2 goals in the last minute and a half of overtime, and the winning goal couldnt have been hit any better, a half an inch either way and its blocked or gets post, it was beautiful. Anyway, you get my first ever soccer rant, and I think i finally get the hole soccer thing. So anyway, Go Itly and hopefully we get to see them cruch those nancy french in the finals, but that wont be decided until later today. Take it easy phil, and keep in touch.

I agree with Jay. I don't watch a lot of "futbol" but I watched the Italy-Germany match and I was on the edge of my seat the whole 120+ minutes. It was by far the best soccer game I have ever seen and I look forward to seeing others like it. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the match, Philip. Was it extraordinary or just your average European battle?

Greetings from NH,
David Ring

P.S. I can't begin to describe how impressed I am with the kind/generous/good work you are doing. It is truly inspiring. /bow to you.
